Route 5, like Route 4 and Route 3, shows Randalls Island and Northern Queens to be a huge hole in the subway's service map. Once again, the proposed new line from East Harlem across Manhattan, into Randalls Island, and down into Northern Queens would serve to eliminate this issue.
