Route 1 presents an interesting issue. It runs along a part of the FDR Drive along the Financial District that, while there are subway lines near it, it doesn't serve the random route's path. One possible way that this is resolved is that if the MTA were to expand the planned 2nd Avenue Line (also known as the "T") down into the Financial District.
